I know, I know. This is a day late. But better late than never, right?
Yesterday was Father’s Day, and part of a crazy busy few days. Thursday was spent at Bible School, helping with the dinner. Friday was the Bible School picnic. Saturday was a jewelry show AND a super fun baby shower (congrats again, Jen!). Sunday was church in the morning for everybody and a Father’s Day lunch out with my parents. And by the afternoon, it was all catching up to me and I couldn’t stay awake!
BUT…this is what T. and Henry worked on when we got home:
T. has always been a Lego fan, and Henry LOVES Legos. But with Henry being so young, he either wants to take them apart as soon as he puts them together, or (as is the case most days now) he wants to carry them around and play with them constantly. Well, for Father’s Day, we got T. a big ol’ Lego set that they could work on together, and T. could then do with what he wants. It’s driving Henry crazy that these Pirates of the Caribbean legos are sitting on top of daddy’s desk to be LOOKED AT ONLY, but for once, T. got to make the executive decision on the Lego usage.
As soon as T. and I got married, he became a dad. After being a bachelor for 29 or so years, he was kind of thrown straight into family life. But he never, ever faltered, and never treated Henry and Ivy as anything but his own.
And then….38 weeks later, Essie Belle was born. The very first blood relative that T. had ever met.
And now, he has another son, Ervin.
We love you, T! Happy Father’s Day (again)!
