I went to the doctor yesterday (with all three kids, by the way…and you know, it wasn’t horrible), and my nurse said, as we were walking down the hall: “13 more days! But who’s counting?” Actually, up until then, I wasn’t. Or at least, not in days. It’s a little different to think about it in weeks than days, especially when you are THISCLOSE to being OUT OF DOUBLE DIGITS in the number of days. Holy cow. It’s no longer three weeks or even two weeks. It’s less than two weeks. It’s less than 12 days!! (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, in less than 12 days, on March 24, 2011, my c-section is scheduled for 8:00 am. Baby Bean will be born, and yes, his real, actual, birth-certificate certified name will be revealed!)
Also at my doctor’s appointment yesterday, I mentioned that for a week, I’ve been waking up between 4:00 and 5:00 am and being utterly unable to go back to sleep for at least two hours (if at all). Even with Tylenol PM, I couldn’t go back to sleep. So she prescribed an antihistamine, which I took for the first time last night (at least during this pregnancy…I may have taken it before) and I woke up at 5:15 am. AND THEN I WENT BACK TO SLEEP. UNTIL 9AM. Do you know how exciting that was?!?! I have LESS THAN TWO WEEKS until I will no longer get sleep, period, and I am SO HAPPY that for the last 11 nights (holy cow!), I will be able to sleep! It is a BIG DEAL you guys.
AND, at my doctor’s appointment yesterday, my doctor actually told me that she was happy with my weight gain this time around. Um, HELLO! I had actually lost two pounds from my appointment a week ago, and last week I had lost a pound from a week before that. Normally this wouldn’t be a great thing, but at this point, Bean’s weight gain is slowing down a little bit, and my belly is STILL GROWING. Oh boy, is it still growing. So she was happy with the fact that I have only gained about 25 pounds during this pregnancy, and only 5 pounds in the last 11 weeks. Um, HELLO! The only thing that would make this more exciting (and if you’ve been pregnant before, you know that this is exciting) is if I hadn’t gained weight right before I got pregnant. But whatever. I’m gonna go ahead and try to forget about that.
Also exciting? My to-do list is getting smaller! (okay, to-do lists). Since I got a full night’s sleep last night AND realized I had 12 days left, I woke up with a little extra energy (and I little of the nesting instinct, perhaps…if you ask my husband), I decided that today would be the day to clean Henry’s room (soon to be the boys’ room, as they’ll be sharing it) and put the crib together. And with the cleaning “help” of Ivy, we got the room cleaned. With the teamwork/muscle of T. we got the crib put together!
And this week, I made 12 pans of food for the deep freeze. Twelve. Yay! And I would totally make more if I had room for them. That’s almost two weeks worth of dinners to just throw in the oven after Bean is born. Woohoo!
So, as I looked back at my to-do lists, I see that I’ve already done most of them! Hooray!! As soon as I publish this, I’m going to watch America’s Next Top Model from this week and crochet on Bean’s blanket some more. I’m almost done with it!
WOW! I would say you have been productive! I can't believe you only have "days" left…then you will be a family of 6! What a blessing. I am so excited to hear bean's real name, I can hardly stand it! And I wish you lived closer so I take pictures of bean in his hats carisa made…they were adorable.
So exciting! Awesome that you froze all of that food!
