Y’all. This was a long month. But. BUT! I will have finished NaBloPoMo tomorrow when I do my Project 365 post, and even managed to write all of the posts the night before (or sooner). I feel accomplished, and totally exhausted.

I did learn a few things along the way, in this posting-every-day-in-November journey, and I’d like to share them with you.

1. When forced to come up with 30 blog posts, things became a lot more, shall we say . . . confessional. Especially towards the end of the month, when I was down and stressed out and ready to not be solo parenting anymore. If I hadn’t had to write something on those days, I wouldn’t have. But I did, so I ended up writing depressing, grumpy things that I wouldn’t normally have shared with the Internet world.

2. When forced to come up with 30 blog posts, I brainstormed topics, sure, but I also just wrote a lot of random things, which is what I used to do when I started blogging.

3. When forced to come up with 30 blog posts, I became very nostalgic, going back through the years a couple of times and sharing memories that were tough.

4. I like writing fiction, even if it’s sort of non-fiction because it’s based on a memory. (what do you call that?)

5. When forced to come up with 30 blog posts, I found that I can still prioritize writing (or maybe that I can prioritize it, period, because I’m not sure I ever have).

6. I couldn’t post every day for any longer than a month, but I did actually enjoy this every day in November exercise.

louise

Did you do NaBloPoMo? What did you learn from it?
