Today’s my 34th birthday. If you had asked me a month ago, I would have told you I was 34 already…I guess 33 was one of those “skip it” years. Do you have those?
Anyway, because I don’t want to do real work right this very minute, instead I’ll share 34 random things. Because I can.
1. I share a birthday with John Lennon and two of my fathers-in-law.
2. I have to remind my kids that it’s my birthday, but then they make me feel pretty special.
3. Henry’s birthday party is this weekend…he was due on the 5th but came nine days late.
4. I was selfishly glad he wasn’t born on my birthday, but it’s okay that we celebrate him on “my” weekend most years.
5. I’m getting deeper into the trenches of my 30s but I’m okay with that.
6. My husband is 11 months older than I am, and he LOVES that one month that we’re the same age. Starting today.
7. My favorite drink at Starbucks is a grande skinny latte with classic syrup.
8. Most of the time, I’m okay with being gluten free, but I often miss gooey, warm donuts something fierce.
9. I’ve discovered that audiobooks on my phone are awesome for plane trips. ‘’
10. E-books on my tablet work, too, but I have to be careful not to get sick during those pesky take-offs and landings.
11. When I started this, I didn’t quite realize how large a number 34 is.
12. Which suddenly makes me feel old.
13. I usually wake up sad on my birthday. Not because of my age, but because there’s no confetti falling from the sky.
14. Metaphorically speaking.
15. I have a passport we got for a trip to Italy that I was too pregnant for, then a trip to Mexico that we got snowed out of. I’m determined to use it in the next 2-3 years.
16. I gave up pop a while ago and am mostly happy with water or (UNSWEET) iced tea, but sometimes, I really want a Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper.
17. Looking back on pictures from my birthday last year, I feel like a slug.
18. Hubs brought home Chipotle for supper, with a bowl of Halloween candy and a bunch of gift cards. Perfect.
19. And now I have to wrap this up because I have crap to do for Henry’s birthday party, plus clean for Grandparents’ Day in the morning and finish work that I’ve put aside all day for other stuff.
20. Yay for being a mom.
21. And my second 21st birthday.
Happy second 21st birthday!!
Thanks, Christine! Where's my drink?!
"11. When I started this, I didn’t quite realize how large a number 34 is."
LOL. This list was thoroughly entertaining. I could've kept reading. Happy birthday again!
Haha, thanks!! I would've kept writing, you know…if I had time. 😀
Ha, happy second 21st birthday! Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper is the best – and it's no longer in my work vending machine, which makes me sad. And I'm older than you, and my kids are older than yours (mostly), so you should feel really young today 🙂
But you LOOK young, so I feel extra young. 😉 Thanks, Katie!
I love this! Happy second 21st birthday!
There may not have been cake, but Chipotle sounds pretty fantastic. 😉
It was good! And candy. Mmmmm. (Although, sneaky little fingers keep trying to take it. Good thing there's a lot!)
Love this!!! Happy second 21st birthday!!! You are amazing and I hope you use that passport sometime soon.
Thank you, thank you, friend. I hope so too!
May this year be awesome!!
Use that passport to visit me!
Oh, that would be awesome, A!
HAHAHAHA! Happy Birthday, happy second 21st!
Thanks, Tara!!
Happy Birthday Greta! You are ten years younger than me! Eeeek. Next month I will be 45, that is a lot of random facts. I like your facts though, you have got me thinking about a '45' post now…..
Thanks also for Through the Lens Thursday, I can't believe we are almost in the last 10 weeks. Clare x
Clare, you'd better start thinking of some things now….not the morning of your birthday. HA! I'm so glad you're enjoying TTLT, and yes, I can't even believe it's almost over! I obviously failed at this week…I tried but life, man.
