Just like last week, this was a fun prompt. I with I could do more macro shots, but my 50 or 35mm lens don’t really allow me to get super close.
But, I played around and this is what I ended up with.
Ivy’s new backpack is covered with different textures….metallic shimmery fabric, velvet, a dull background. Can you see it?
We have a tree in the middle of the front garden with some gnarly twists. But, it was the locust shell on the bark that I focused on.
And, how could I do a post without including Louise? I was going to (I swear) but she was running around the yard and when Essie picked her up, she was panting. So many different textures in one little face!
What do you think? Through The Lens Thursday is meant for self-improvement, so please….constructive criticism is welcome!
Through The Lens Thursday is a self-improvement photography project that Alison of Writing, Wishing and I are doing this year.
Don’t forget to join our Flickr group or share your own posts if you’d like to follow along and work on your own photography! And use the hashtag #throughthelensthursday to connect with others working on it, too.
Next week’s prompt is GOLDEN.
I think the shots are GREAT!! Macro is not easy, neither is texture, but you made them work!
Thanks, Alison! I really like these shots.
Argh, I don't know if I have anything for texture. :-/
Still loving that little Louise, she is getting so big and still SO CUTE!
She's still itty bitty, but yes, getting bigger! She's a handful at the moment. Literally and figuratively. 😀
LOVE the tree one! so fantastic with the wood and the contrast of the bug. really great.
and you can really see the dog's fur and whiskers too — a really good macro lens would make that really pop.
I'm still getting the hang of mine.
I think a macro lens is next on my wish list! Thank you!
Fantastic shot of the tree and cicada shell! We find those all the time and they creep me out! My youngest used to picke them off and 'collect' them. Ew.
I enjoyed this prompt, I have no lenses apart from the one my camera came with, so I cropped to get close up.
Great photos x
Thanks, Clare! My girls love to pick them off the tree, and I'd much rather see the shells than the actual bug. HA.
Louise is so cute! Love the pics of the backpack.
Thanks, Angela! She's adorable. And a pill. 🙂
Very good! The tree was captivating for me.
Thanks, Andrea! I took a dozen pictures of that darn tree.
I love them all. This was a great post. And I could see all the textures in the backpack. I can see why you chose it.
Thanks, Jennie! I didn't even notice all of the textures on it until I was taking the pictures.
Love the first 2 shots, they are amazing! Good job!
Thank you!!
