It has been so busy around here, which is funny, because we’re pretty much done with all of the summer plans we had. But braces, doctor’s appointments, eye appointments, conferences, school supply shopping, and a new puppy, it feels like there’s something to do every day. And school starts in a week and a half!

In our house, #toddlerstyle extends to bedtime. Also, emergency preparedness. (This was taken at midnight)
Birthday party time for two girls!
July 21
The kids went to grandma and grandpa’s house immediately after their party, and I had two whole days to get myself ready for BlogHer. Of, course, that included a salon visit.
July 22
The last day before traveling to CA included a lot of packing and writing and packing and more writing. Fueled by coffee, of course.

Also fueled by (giant, expensive airport) coffee: Gretta’s trip to San Jose.
I made it to beautiful San Jose! There, I met up with some girls that were also already in town (a day early), and we had dinner together (photo by Elaine). (From the left: Poppy, Tammy, me, Jennie, and Arnebya)

At BlogHer, I was a very bad picture-taker and hardly took any pictures. Thankfully, Elaine took a lot and shared with us, because there are a lot of memories that she was able to capture. Like, this dinner with a big group of some of my best friends (online or off):
Top Row: Kristin, Angela, me Center: Jennie, Arnebya, Tonya Bottom: Elaine, Jennifer, Katie, Leigh Ann, Poppy (I also stole all of the links here from Elaine because I’m lazy)
And then we had some expo fun.
July 25
Ivy’s birthday! And the official first day of the conference. I had fantastic roommates (Leigh Ann, Kristin, and Angela).
July 26
I only took one picture on Saturday (what the heck?!) and it was a selfie in front of a heart made of Happy Meal toys at the closing party. I didn’t even share it. (Again, thank GOODNESS for other people’s pictures!).
I'm so glad you had fun in San Jose!
I did! It really was an awesome and exhausting trip.
I took a few, but my phone died because I wasn't bothering to plug it up much. I like that I wasn't so reliant on it, always looking at it. I had so much of my internet in my face that I didn't need to.
That's so true. My favorite parts of the whole conference were when we were just sitting around the table, talking and laughing.
I adore your "roomie" shot! Y'all are beautiful!! 😀
Thanks, Elaine! We had a good time.
