I drive the road to my kids’ school twice a day, past a lot of fields and this old barn. I’ve taken pictures of it several times with my phone. I don’t know why I love it so much….but I especially love it when there are birds sitting on top of it. I didn’t edit this at all, except to crop it a little.
On Mother’s Day, I asked the kids to plant some Easter lily plants that my grandma had given me. The dug the holes and put them in, just before it got chilly and rained. (Ivy still used the little garden tool after it bent over on itself)
For Mother’s Day (before we decided to get a new car), I asked for a 35mm lens for my camera, so that’s what I used for the garden pictures.

I love the picture of the barn!
How are you liking your new lens? I feel like spoiling myself and getting a new one.
I LOVE the barn picture!!
the barn looks like in the wolverine movie, i love to have a pictorial with that barn its so unique
I love when nature takes over abandoned buildings. Great photo – the blue sky, the never-ending field… lovely!
The barn picture is gorgeous – the old barn, that blue sky and the fields… reminds me a little of home. How do you like the 35mm lens. I am forever trying to decide which lens I should get next and I just can't make up my mind.
The barn picture is AWESOME, it is so simple and yet so beautiful, you are getting better and better each week!
I totally get it — I have a thing for old empty barns too. Perhaps because I spent so much time working in a FULL one as a child. LOL
I really like how you framed it in the lower third, and ended up with all the negative (empty) space of the sky for the rest of the shot. very cool and perfect for the prompt.
I love, love, love pictures of rundown old barns.
I love that barn! Amazing sky too. I can totally see why you take lots of photos of the barn. Clare
Thanks, CLare! I'm so drawn to it, and it looks different every day, depending on the weather/sky/season.
I love that the barn looks lifeless, but there are plants growing up its side. Clinging to it.
Stubborn. Alive.
Beautiful pictures as always, Greta. And since I don't even own a camera, I can't give you any criticism.
Just admiration.
Thank you so much, Julie. And I love what you pointed out about the barn. The vines and the birds make it seem so alive somehow.
That barn photo is the shiz!! I love love LOVE it!
Thanks, Katie! It's probably my best/easiest subject. 😀
