My husband thinks I’m addicted to car seats. I’m not, I swear. But I might be addicted to not having to switch car seats around to a different car in the morning when we’re trying to leave for school, or to replacing old ones that you can no longer adjust so they fit snugly. That’s reasonable, right? All for the safety of my precious cargo and my precious sanity.

So over the years, and through four kids, we’ve tried a lot of different car seats. In the last few years, though, I’ve only bought the kind that will move up to different stages with them and convert at the kids get older. I research the features, and read reviews and look for the car seats that A) we can afford, B) will keep the kids as safe as possible, and C) will make my life easier.

Erv got a new seat recently that he and I both love. I love that I can adjust it from the front, both height and tightness of the straps, so I never need to unbuckle it or unthread it or any of that hassle. He loves that it’s comfortable (both cool to the touch and cushy) and that it has cupholders (with straps, no less).evenflo 1

It took me approximately ten minutes to get it out of the box, adjust it to fit him snugly, and latch it into the car. I haven’t had to worry about it since, and he’s taken several naps in it already. He never gets sweaty, thanks to the special material (that Nasa developed!) that doesn’t heat up no matter how long it’s parked, so both of us can have a peaceful ride. And, because we all know that hot buckles don’t make anybody happy, these have pockets around them so they’re easy to find when buckling him in, and they don’t heat up either.

This one is going to grow with him, too (it’s recommended for 5-110 lbs) so really, it’s the last new car seat we’ll ever need or have. (excuse me, I have something in my eye)
