My husband thinks I’m addicted to car seats. I’m not, I swear. But I might be addicted to not having to switch car seats around to a different car in the morning when we’re trying to leave for school, or to replacing old ones that you can no longer adjust so they fit snugly. That’s reasonable, right? All for the safety of my precious cargo and my precious sanity.
So over the years, and through four kids, we’ve tried a lot of different car seats. In the last few years, though, I’ve only bought the kind that will move up to different stages with them and convert at the kids get older. I research the features, and read reviews and look for the car seats that A) we can afford, B) will keep the kids as safe as possible, and C) will make my life easier.
Erv got a new seat recently that he and I both love. I love that I can adjust it from the front, both height and tightness of the straps, so I never need to unbuckle it or unthread it or any of that hassle. He loves that it’s comfortable (both cool to the touch and cushy) and that it has cupholders (with straps, no less).
It took me approximately ten minutes to get it out of the box, adjust it to fit him snugly, and latch it into the car. I haven’t had to worry about it since, and he’s taken several naps in it already. He never gets sweaty, thanks to the special material (that Nasa developed!) that doesn’t heat up no matter how long it’s parked, so both of us can have a peaceful ride. And, because we all know that hot buckles don’t make anybody happy, these have pockets around them so they’re easy to find when buckling him in, and they don’t heat up either.
This one is going to grow with him, too (it’s recommended for 5-110 lbs) so really, it’s the last new car seat we’ll ever need or have. (excuse me, I have something in my eye)

We love our Evenflo seat! And hey, if NASA developed something then it must be fantastic.
Right?! It is very cool.
I need to get Avery a new seat. We have been shopping around. I'll add this one to my list to check out. And yes, this will be our last car seat too 🙁
Bittersweet, isn't it? Definitely check this one out. I love it.
I remember what a hassle it was to adjust the straps when the kids got bigger. You had to undo the whole thing and then redo it and put it all back together… Ugh, so glad I don't have to deal with it anymore and so glad that there are better options for new parents now!!!
YES. Even when the big two were babies, I had to do that. And they always got car sick, so I was always taking the dang things apart!
Looks like it should be in the space shuttle….lol…..I am way past that age, but I remember when mine were little, car seats were JUST coming out and what a pain! Glad to see they have improved!
So much trouble, right? Even when my oldest two were tiny, they were a pain. I'm so glad they've improved!
It sounds fantastic. A chair growing with a child is awesome. A cost effective investment.
This is a good information for the fashion lovers.
