You know my son is obsessed with Lego (Legos? LEGO?). He’s been to Legoland in Kansas City twice now, and asks to go again as often as possible.
You also know that we have four kids and going to places like Legoland is…erm….PRICEY.
BUT. We’re going again. Soon. Know why? Because I got a deal on the tickets and saved $17 bucks. That’s basically getting one of us in for free. Which is basically like only having three kids, which would be way cheaper than the four. (Hear that Erv? You make everything expensive. But we love you anyway.)
ScoreBig is a website that lets you haggle for concert tickets, sporting events (there are a TON in KC), broadway shows, and attractions like Legoland. They work with the companies that put on these events to sell the unsold tickets for cheaper, which means that there are often last-minute concerts or games listed.
What you do is find an event or attraction in your area that you want to go to, add it to your cart and “make a deal” by bidding on the tickets for a lower price. It even tells you how likely they are to accept the offer, so you know that bidding $45 on $120 worth of tickets isn’t going to fly, but maybe $95 is. You get an answer right away, and if it’s not accepted, they’ll come back with an fixed price offer for you, which you can accept or let go. My bid wasn’t accepted, but they offered me the tickets for only $5 more than my bid, which was still a great deal.
Within the day, I got an email that my tickets were being delivered to our house, but depending on what the ticket is for, they’ll email them for you to print, have them at will call, or ship them to you.
If we decide to go to a Royals game (which my kids haven’t experienced yet but was a big childhood memory maker for me), I’ll get discounted tickets on ScoreBig, for sure. And it’ll be nice to find some deals on attractions or shows when we go on vacation, too.
So now we can count on another trip to Legoland this summer, and we don’t even have to give the fourth child back. SCORE.
I received a credit to try out the website and review it, but I wasn’t compensated otherwise. All opinions are 100% my own.
