It was a dark and stormy night…
No, really, it was. After a couple of positively gorgeous days, a cold front came through, bringing gusty winds and lots of rain.
This one was a challenge, but that’s what we’re here for, right? My camera (a Nikon D3100) only goes up to an ISO of 3200, so it would only focus on something and take a picture if there was enough light.
This first one is the window next to our kitchen. Our house is very…homey. There are things about it that are dated (like linoleum and paneling) that we don’t have the time or energy to do anything about, and the walls and windows are covered in kid stuff. We’re not at all fancy. As you can see here.
This one was off the front porch. The only light I could grab onto was the street light, but I just happened to catch a car driving by at the same time. You can almost make out the trees in our yard, but that’s about it.

Next week’s prompt: DOOR
I really like the first one. It's like a peek inside the windows…just a glipse.
and now that I read that it's sounds creepy, ha – sorry.
but of course I mean in the way that you can never fully see into someone's world – just a a peek in the dark.
the second is very cool and mysterious — you could start a whole story based on that image.
I like the peek into your home at night! 🙂
Great shots, this was such a hard one. My camera goes to 1600 ISO, so this was a very difficult one for me! I have to sort through the photos I took to see if any will even work. Having said that, I was pleased to have the chance to push and learn something new, even if I couldn't execute it very well.
I like the window shot, it is very nicely balanced. Clare x
Lovely shots! Striking =)
These are cool. I like the movement of the car light in the second one.
Both photos are captivating to me. I like sort of not knowing what I'm looking at, at first, and then when the image comes together you get that moment of realization.
