Through The Lens Thursday is a self-improvement photography project that Alison of Writing, Wishing and I are doing this year. See the bottom of the post for ways to join in!

The prompt this week is White, but I’d like to give an alternate title to this post: Leftovers.

This is a close up of the front porch fence at about 8am in the morning, with the Christmas lights that we have yet to take down. I haven’t felt at all motivated yet to take down the lights and put them away. (Update: late Monday morning, I did, in fact, take the lights down)

I’m loving the early morning light, and tried to focus on the white LED bulbs. You can also see more of the lights in the garden behind the fence.

This is leftover sleepies. Erv had just woken up, so his hair was doing the awesome bedhead thing that it does. Some days, he insists on bringing his “bapi” downstairs (pronounced “bah-pee”), which is the white I wanted to capture (along with the light coming in between the curtains onto his face). His bapis (of which he has several) are well-loved, so this “white” is a little dingier than some.

And this is my leftover addiction from our Christmas travels. My MIL had Redi Whip in her fridge, and I put some in my coffee. Now, I can’t seem to have it any other way (although, I still can’t get it to taste quite as good as I did at her house). I’m also still daydreaming about the relaxing I did in Florida last week, and have been using my souvenir mug from the resort all day every day.

Don’t forget to join our Flickr group or share your own posts if you’d like to follow along and work on your own photography! And use the hashtag #throughthelensthursday to connect with others working on it, too.

Next week’s prompt is REFLECTION.
