We survived the first week of school! Yeah, so, it was only four days, but it was four LONG days. In case you missed it, I’m giving away coffee (go! enter!) this week, and I reviewed a great new album from two of members of the Dixie Chicks. Oh, and I shared how (and with what) I pack school lunches for the entire week ahead of time.

The girls were trying on Ivy’s new school clothes (specifically, her knee socks), and Essie put on her hand-me-down Cons and “tied” them. (swoon)
Aug 12
Meet the Teacher Night for the first and second grader. Henry’s class is so much bigger than Ivy’s that he actually has the same teacher AND same classroom that he did last year.
Aug 13
The first day of school (at least, for the big two)! I took the little two grocery shopping and school was only had a half day, so those few hours positively FLEW by.
Aug 14
Little dude woke up ENTIRELY too early on Wednesday, so he was unbearably pleasant all morning (where’s sarcasm font when I need it?). It was a beautiful day, though, so even though these two fought most of the time, they got to play outside.
Aug 15
It was actually chilly Thursday (in August! in Kansas!). But there was more playing outside, because, you know…jackets.
Aug 16
Just another typical school morning around here.
Then hubs got home from his entirely-too-long work trip and promptly gave Erv a hair cut.

Another gorgeous day.
How was your week?
It was a cray cray week for me but I loved my birthday weekend!
I hope that this week goes easy on you. 🙂
Birthdays (or birthday weekends/weeks/months) never, ever last long enough. I'm excited for mine in October, though! Thsi week, so far, has been a little quieter. 🙂
I love Erv's shoes so very much! Little CARS!! adorable.
They're Batmobiles! Adorable, right?!
Our week was good – still summer routine here for a couple more weeks, but I am slowing trying to get us prepared.
Love the photos of your week. And the stripey socks and tied shoes? Adorable! 🙂
Thanks, Kim! I kind of love that time at the end of the summer, when you start to just slow down (or slam on the brakes because summer went too fast) and enjoy your last bit of time.
My week went by fast. They all have seemed to, but not in the moment!
Love Essie's job at tying up her shoes!
Love, love, love that first picture of the knee high socks and shoes! And the two cuties in the sandbox is almost too much 🙂 Glad the first week of school went fairly well for you guys!
It did! I can't wait to hear how yours goes!
My week was pretty epic.
I wasn't going to reply to this one, but I can't help myself. Best. Comment. Ever. 😀
Love the socks! I had a busy week last week – we had an extra two teenagers staying with us for the week. So, we had 6 boys and 1 girl! Lots of food….
Whoa, that is a full house! Never a dull moment, I bet. 🙂
Oops…pressed submit by accident and now I'm giggling at the thought of just leaving it like that…epic. I just love that picture of the knee high socks and tied shoes.
I love it so much, I may get a canvas made. 🙂 And yes, I love that you just said your week was epic!
I still love striped socks. On me. I don't think I'll ever outgrow it. One of my favorite stores is Little Mismatched just because of all the stripey and non-matching options. I think the sandbox pic is my favorite just because of his "huh, what?" face. Our week was quiet. The girls don't start school until next week and Z starts the following week. I took almost zero photos of them last week BUT we were having fun so I don't feel so badly.
There are a lot of days when I only take one picture, because I need to for this project. But, we're just having fun, doing the same ol' thing. I have a lot of striped socks, too, that I wear under my boots in the winter. They never match, mostly because laundry is too much work as it is.
Glad you made it through the first week. These pictures are amazing….some serious cuteness going on. Hope this week goes well too.
Thanks, Angela! So far, so good. Although, I am exhausted….but what's new, right?
Your kids look like they're having fun! That's the important part. 🙂 Love it!
Yes! When they're not bickering, they always seem to be having fun. 🙂
Your pictures always make me smile. By now you're already in school mode, but it's always a good time for a "Yay! School!"
I have another Yay, school! day today with the preschooler starting! Yay, school!!
