Welcome to #iPPP! Sarah at The Sunday Spill and I want to see your funny, your yummy, your heartfelt, your favorite phone photos of the week. All you need is a blog post containing at least one photo from any phone camera. Link up below!
My friend Elaine from Miss-Elaineous Life wrote a post this week called The Whole Story, with the “behind the scenes” stories of some of her favorite Instagram pictures. Well, I have a lot of those, so I’m totally stealing her idea (with permission).
I love this picture. To me, it screams FULL HEART! FULL HOME!
What’s really going on? Ervin was not supposed to be in the bathroom, because he always gets into everything. Ivy was climbing on the toilet, apparently sticking her toothbrush in the spare toilet paper roll, and Essie was paying more attention to Ivy than her teeth or toothbrush.
This is one of my new favorites. I’m a sucker for any pictures with all four of the kids that really shows their personalities.
What’s going on here? Erv was scaring me half to death on this slide, but climbing up (mostly) skillfully and enjoying the up and down and up and down. The girls were (mostly) helping him by blocking him from falling backwards or sliding down with him when he wasn’t too sure about it, and sliding down the slide while I kept telling them to “STOP MOVING.” Henry was there, completely against his will, because I called him over from playing a game on one of his grandparent’s iPhones when I saw the perfect photo opportunity. As soon as I got it, he went back to his game.
I love this picture of Erv. His smile, his stance, his little hoodie.
What’s going on with him? He’s facing our house on a (cold) “spring” day. See the white house behind him? That’s grandpa and grandma’s house. He made a run for it, across the grass, as soon as I turned for a second, and all but refused to come home. He climbed grandpa’s “tractors” (riding lawnmowers), and veered in and out the different vehicles while I chased him around the driveway. Repeat three times before I drag him in the house for lunch, kicking and screaming.
This picture is hysterical to me. I can still hear the squeal that she let loose after every big push from grandma and grandpa.
What you don’t see? Ten minutes after this picture taken, and far too long after they should have stopped, she got off the swing, sat down on the picnic table bench, and threw up.
What kind of back stories do your pictures have?

I so love the back stories. Will do this next week and link up with #ippp!! (gosh I just love that my calendar is now full-ish thanks to awesome blogging ideas from my friends)
The last story made me laugh. I know, vomiting children is no laughing matter. But it is such an incongruous image compared to her on the swing.
It was pretty funny, actually. I totally saw it coming. I'm a mom, I know when my kids are spinning or swinging too much. But their father and grandfather obviously don't. SIGH. At least it was outside and not in the car. 🙂
I can feel happiness, joy, fun and happiness from behind your scenes 😀
Thanks, Maureen!
Okay, I'm REALLY sorry she threw up but OMG, I pretty much love that back story. And I have pulled a kid from what they were ACTUALLY doing to get them in a picture, OH YES I HAVE. It's a favorite pastime actually… ;-P
Thanks for the shout out and these pics are GREAT!
Haha, otherwise, we'd never have pictures of all of them, would we?! Thanks, Elaine!
That is part of the reason that capturing that perfect moment in photo brings me such joy – because the next moment can bring such a completely different scenario. Wonderful photos, Greta!
Exactly! Thanks, Kim!
So. I don't do #ippp. I only post on Thursdays. That's how I roll. But I just had to stop by because you're so sweet to me with the "likes on Facebook.
Beautiful pics. Beautiful babies. Beautiful life. 🙂
Thanks…I think? 😀
I love this idea! And Erv's little hoodie. Wayy too cute.
I know, I'm glad I stole it. 😀 Isn't his hoodie adorable?!
Love hearing your behind the scenes – I may be next to steal this idea 🙂 These are all great ones, too (of course)!
You should! Thanks, Katie!
[…] linking up with Greta and Sarah for a little iPhone phun! […]
LOL! The throwing up! At least you didn't have to clean that up, right? Outside can take care of its own messes. 🙂
That's EXACTLY what I said, Tara!! It could've been in the car, which is ONE MILLION times worse. 😀
Oh dear, kind of laughing at the throwing up. And their facial expressions on the slide are priceless!
I was laughing, too, except that I totally saw it coming. You can't push a kid that high for that long without her getting sick. Doesn't happen!
I love this post so much.
So often we only see the picture and not what is actually happening in your life. I love learning more.
Exactly! That's why I stole the idea. 🙂 Thanks, Leighann!
Love the pics and the behind the scenes stories – they are always there, aren't they? The last one is kinda funny. Kids always have to over-do it. 🙂
Always. And so do grandparents. 😉
Love this idea! It's so fun to hear more about the stories behind the photos. Sometimes a photo needs a thousand (or at less a few) words, huh?
Yes! Exactly. Some pictures just need to be explained. 😀
She threw up?! Poor thing.. I guess it was fun while it lasted.
Haha, she was totally fine a couple of minutes later. And yes, she had WAY too much fun. 😀
I giggled a little at "she threw up." Now I feel bad. Poor kid. What lovely pictures, though. I especially like the one of the little guy rocking his hoodie.
Isn't he adorable in it? Love a boy in a hoodie. And yeah, I giggled, too. Mostly because it was outside and easy to clean up. Totally saw it coming, though.
OMG! I can't believe she threw up. That's awful. I still love her dirty feet though.
Well, you know, she didn't know when to stop. And she was fine a few minutes later, but you KNOW I didn't let her swing that high again!
I was sure I had commented about this – I remember seeing the pictures. But my favorite is the bathroom one. It is so full of life, just like you said. Love it.
