This was a week of MORE snow days. Plus, an out of town trip for the hubs and the resulting plethora of solo parenting days for me. I’m pretty much exhausted. But, look at that, it’s March!
Feb. 24
Sunday was the day we all played in the snow (some of us longer than others).
Feb. 25
The kids actually went to school on Monday (I think…I’m very confused about this week’s happenings at this point). We were supposed to get another huge storm, but it didn’t even snow that night, here. After snow days on Thursday and Friday, though, I was ready to shove them out the door.
This was after they got home. Erv loves his biggest sister, because she’s the one that pays attention to him.
Feb. 26
No school. It started snowing in the middle of the night (again, I think…it’s all running together at this point), so the cancellation call came at 5:11 that morning. Just three hours after Erv woke up crying, and I brought him to my bed so he could toss and turn on me until I kicked him out of my bed and back to his at about 5:30. I think because of this lack of sleep, I didn’t even consider letting the kids play outside that day. It was snowing for the first half, and super windy, and I just got it in my head that it was too crappy for them to go outside, even when it calmed down in the afternoon.
The girls played together all day, and the boys had to entertain themselves.
Feb. 27
Because there was very little school to be had this week, and with daddy gone from Monday to Thursday, we had a lot of living room picnics. I think we ate every single meal during that time, in the living room.
Feb. 28
The kids went back to school! And my dad watched the little two so I could do some power grocery shopping All. By. Myself. Yay! (And I think I rocked the infinity scarf that I got from Jessica’s daughter, Hayley, who’s raising money for cancer research)
Mar. 1
Do you know what’s a challenge? Doing yoga with a toddler. He thought it was hilarious to climb on me and under me as I was trying to do the poses. I have to admit, though, it was pretty funny (and mildly frustrating).
Mar. 2
Today was completely uneventful. The girls went with grandma and grandpa to a basketball game and the boys stayed home with hubs and I. There was quite a bit of game playing happening, and a certain youngest child woke up from nap on the wrong side of the crib entirely.
Are you as ready for spring as I am??
4 days of solo parenting snowed in?
I bow to you.
You totally rocked the scarf!
Days often blur for me. I forget what day it is and have to ask.
I know…I'm like that any time our schedule gets messed up. And also, all summer…
The funny thing is I usually ask my papa and he has Alzheimer's so that usually doesn't help!
Great pics. When my husband is on a trip (which is often as he's a pilot) my daughter and I have indoor picnics. I'm not too sure what the draw is, and it is exhausting as she doesn't really sit and eat, preferring instead to run around… But she loves it. Congrats on four nights solo. That's quite an accomplishment.
We have living room picnics when my husband is away too – the boys look forward to them. Hope the snow settles down in your neck off the woods and you can get back on your routine this week. 🙂
