Ah, kindergarten. My daughter is in kindergarten now, and I have fond memories of the time I was there, too.
I had my own very unique sense of style. My mom and brothers called me “the gypsy” because when I chose my clothes, I chose long dresses and skirts. The kind that, when sitting in kindergarten floor time, I would lay out in a huge circle around me. I’m sure it wasn’t a distraction at all.
I wasn’t very good then (and still now) at keeping track of the days. Back then, we would go to kindergarten every other day, and alternate Fridays. Those Fridays, man….I remember a couple of them that weren’t my school days, and I showed up anyway and had to hang around until I could go back home. Yeah, I’m sure my parents had a little something to do with that, too. Maybe that’s where I get it…
Why am I telling you this? Because I, along with 22 other amazing bloggers, are collaborating to bring you a super fun task, which could result in you winning a $300 Amazon gift card!
We present……Name That Kindergartner!
It’s very simple – just match the picture (with the assigned alphabet) to the blogger whose blog is listed below. What’s in it for you? Ohmygoodness, I can picture kindergartener you PERRFECTLY! (*And I adore her, too!)
Love this, and love being a part of this with you!
xo
Given how much all of you remember about kindergarten I'm starting to worry that I'm suffering from selective amnesia. I barely remember anything!
So glad to be part of this and hear these stories!
I love reading these and hearing what you all remember from Kindergarten. I clearly remember nothing except that it was such a special and fun time. Love that you all are doing this.
Those "every other" days are rough. As a mom trying to navigate that schedule, it's rough!
I had a little giggle imagining you with your circle of skirt around you, hehe.
Love doing this with you and all the other awesome ladies!
Oh, I'm SURE they didn't send you on purpose. I mean, none of US would do that would we? 😉
Aw, I love that you wore long skirts!

I can't believe that you had your own style even back then. I just put on whatever homemade 70's item was on top of my dresser drawer.

I remember that around that age I had a long red dress with teeny, tiny white polka dots all over it for Christmas. I loved it. Still one of my favorite things I ever wore.

Love that we are doing this together and might I add, what a cute kindergartner you were and have! 🙂

I love these posts – they're all so cool. And I just put an embarrassing amount of time into coming up with my guess. And I'm still pretty sure I missed about half – but I'll be curious to see the answers. And also curious to see which ones were guessed correctly the most because some were very clear, and others…not so much 🙂 Fun stuff!
Greta – I can totally picture you in a gypsy skirt rocking your boho chic look. Of course you were distracting, you were the most stylish kid (in a non JC Penny way) in the classroom!
That whole alternate days thing would have screwed me up hard core. I would have been a nervous wreck by first grade with that business.

It is so funny how reading these posts bring up more kindergarten memories for me.
To keep track of the days of the week, I used to have underwear with the days of the week listed on it. My best friend and I would go to the washroom and sit in side-by-side stalls and she would ask me what day it was according to my panties.
Gypsy! I remember coming home from kinder one day and telling my mom that the girls didn't all wear dressed every day. My poor mom. I barely wore a dress after that until adulthood.
This is adorable, but I have NO idea! 🙂
Ha! I know, it's tough, but it's a big prize! 😀
I couldn't imagine every other Friday. My 3 yr old is in PK3 5 days a week, full day like his sisters in 4th and 7th grades. I can't keep up with what I'm supposed to do most days so having to remember off/on Fridays for school? Nope.
I know, it was nuts. There was always a kid that came on the wrong day, especially around holidays and snow days and things like that!
That's kind of a weird schedule, I would have showed up on the wrong days too!
This is SO fun! 🙂 Glad so many of us could play along.
