We finally made it to church, because it was Secret Valentine day and the kids met their Secret Valentine. I took this picture as we were walking in (Henry was holding my hand, of course). I love everything about it.

Sick day for the girls. Turns out, Ivy wasn’t all that sick, but Essie had a high fever and threw up on the couch. It only lasted a day, though, and she was totally back to normal. Except now she has a rash on her neck. Weird virus maybe?

My second 5K of the year, another virtual race through Fit 4 Life. I beat my first time by 2 and a half minutes, and I sweat a lot!

I made a pan of gluten free Ooey Gooey bars for Ivy for her Valentine’s Day party. It’s kind of our go to treat these days. This batch, I almost burned. Almost. I did manage to stick my thumb in the marshmallows, though.

Valentine’s Day! I took a lot of pictures, so I’ll offer up a collage.

Hubs and I were supposed to have a night in the city for Valentine’s Day, but the plans fell through when his mom came down with a bronchial infection. Hubs offered to pick up dinner, though, and even stopped for wine.

Finally, we got a date night while the kids stayed with my mom. But first, we spent all morning upstairs so the kids could play in the toy room (Erv isn’t usually allowed up there because of the stairs, the Legos in the bedroom, the bathroom, etc), while outside was covered in the white stuff.
My valentine and I, finally, on a date. Dark restaurant=grainy picture. Oh well.
How was your Valentine’s Day? I want to hear about it!
Looks like there were a lot of ups and downs this past week for you! Hope next week goes way more as planned and that everyone gets healthy!
DEFINITELY a lot of ups and downs! Whew. I'm exhausted. Thanks, Laura! I'll be waiting for them all to be healthy. We've got a chorus of coughers right now. :/
My VD kind of sucked. My kids were awesome – thoughtful cards and well-wishes. By the end of the day, I decided to buy my own self some flowers. They are very pretty. My husband's comment? "I hope they weren't very expensive." So romantic 🙁
I love the photo of your husband and the three kids! And your selfies! No double/triple/quadruple chin in any of them!!!!!
Aw, shoot. Yeah….not so romantic. Sorry!
NO double chins for me anymore! THANK YOU!!
Glad to hear you got your date after all and that the sickness lasted only a short time. Love the Valentine's Day collage.
Well, now the big three are all coughing…A LOT. I'm glad they don't have school tomorrow so we can have another resting day. Hopefully it'll pass soon!
what a wonderful backyard! it looks so peaceful! Glad you finally got your date….they are so important
Thanks actually our front yard! You can sort of see the road that goes in front of our house in the picture. The back yard IS definitely peaceful…we're surrounded by farm land.
And YES. We SO needed that night out!
WOW! what a wonderful set up! Post pics of the back one day!
Glad you had your date, yay!
The picture of the snow outside, stunning (and cold).
Thanks! Yes…it was really cold. I stayed inside. But today, it's completely melted. Crazy Kansas weather!
Date nights are great! Glad you were able to get out together. Our Valentine's Day was quiet at home, but still very nice. 🙂
Yes, I'm so glad, too. But quiet nights are also excellent!
Love that first pic, so much!
Valentine's Day was good. We didn't make a big deal. Grilled some steaks and gave each other cards. But we are having brunch, next Sunday by ourselves so we'll love on each other then. Glad you still got your date night! 😀
Isn't it precious? I love Erv's little face. Your V Day sounds great, and I love how you say you'll love on each other. You two are so cute!
Glad that you got your date night in!
Me too, Julia! It was much needed.
If Essie had a fever the rash could be from that. My daughter used to get rashes from fevers… Glad you got a date night. I remember those… Sort of…
May need the recipe for those gooey bars!
LOVE the church picture.
