Welcome to #iPPP! Sarah at The Sunday Spill and I want to see your funny, your yummy, your heartfelt, your favorite phone photos of the week. All you need is a blog post containing at least one photo from any phone camera. Link up below! (In case you missed last week, Sarah has taken over co-hosting duties for Julie).
I started out the day with good intentions. For a Monday, I was too exhausted to take the little two to the KC zoo like I had originally planned. My husband left for the airport at 3am, and I’m pretty sure both of us were feeling that early morning (him more than me, but the extra wake up didn’t do me any favors). I knew my patience wouldn’t last the afternoon in a place like that.
So instead, since it was looking to be a glorious, spring-like January day, I decided that I’d take the kids to a nearby park that we’d seen but had never visited.
Side note: we live out in the country, about ten minutes away from four different very small towns. This particular park is in the same town as the big kids’ school.
We pulled up to the park, which I had never actually seen anyone playing in. (But, to be fair, we’ve only seen it while we were downtown waiting on a school Halloween parade or stopping in at the post office.)
It was clean. And spread out, and surrounded closely on three sides by streets. I only have a few pictures, because within about five minutes, I discovered that Erv was going to make a break for the streets as soon as I wasn’t paying attention.
It was (fairly) pleasant and a good dose of Vitamin D for all of us, while it lasted. All forty-five minutes of it.

It looks like such a great park!
That's the thing I hate about Malaysia – no parks like that, or weather good enough to enjoy one. It's either too hot and humid, or it's raining.
Meh…we won't be going back to that park. Half of the equipment was too grown up for them, and the way it was laid out was SO not toddler-proof. We're really lucky, though, that we have a couple of others to choose from…if it ever warms up again. 🙂
They are so cute and I love that he's rocking the adidas! Last picture is wonderful!
Those Adidas came straight from Mama Mash. 🙂 Hand-me-downs at their best! Thanks, Kerry! I'm glad I got a few pictures while the kids were "contained".
Oh, that orange sweat suit is the CUTEST. And I LOVE the big wide slide – looks like sooo much fun. Reading the comments, sounds like the rest of the park was meh… but what a fun excursion 🙂
The sweat suit was a Christmas gift, but I don't think he'd worn it together before. The slide and bridge were fun for them. But boy, I couldn't take my eyes off for a second!
Oh man, I love those old school metal slides. Glad you all had fun and look – you had the place all to yourself! 🙂
Haha! We certainly did. 🙂 It was fun…but TIRING (for me).
I love Erv's little DJ Lance like outfit. We had a really nice day here yesterday, but unfortunately I didn't spend any of it outside! I should take my kids to the park more often. They love it. But Brinky has a tendency kind of like Erv it sounds like – to run away from all the nice park equipment and into the woods or street!
Ha! DJ Lance. He totally needs to goofy hat. 😀 I forced myself to take them, even though I was so tired, because I had no reason not to. We do have other parks around that are much easier to keep track of Erv in. Next time!
That looks like a lot of fun – when you weren't closing escape routes, that is. I could do with a warm day with some sunshine. We have had sun, but lately it has been too cold to be outside for too long. I am looking forward to spring.
I am SO looking forward to spring. Oh my goodness. It snowed here last night, so the kids had a snow day. But it was 70 degrees TWO days ago. Crazy Kansas weather.
Looks like fun (for them). You are a good mama to take them to a park after getting up so early. I love the outfits and the pictures, especially LOVE the last pic of the kids in the swings. So sweet.
Well, I can't say I actually "got up" that early. I'm not a good enough wife to do that. But he did wake me up when he got up. I just didn't have an excuse not to take them, you know? And they had fun, and wore themselves out. We haven't gotten out enough lately!
Love me some park pictures!!
The park is my favourite spot to take my daughter.. other kids to play with, open space, fresh air, and toys.
The BEST!
Well, there weren't any other kids to play with, except each other. 😀 But they did get some sunshine and fresh air, which we so badly needed!
You know what…that's 45 minutes more than my son has been out all week and we live in FLORIDA. So good on you, girl!
Ha! It had been a LONG time since the three of us had done anything fun out of the house. Next time, maybe it'll last a little longer.
I just linked up for the first time. Thanks!
Thanks for joining us, Diane!
Spring like days in the winter are just so great! Looks like you guys had a blast!
The kids definitely had fun, and they kept me on my toes! But yes, the weather was amazing that day. I miss it. 🙂
I love his little sweatsuit! It's adorable!
Isn't it? He got it for Christmas, and it was the first time I put him in both pieces together.
I'd love some nice having fun at the park weather. Looks like a blast!
