Let’s just pretend that I haven’t had an insane week and that this isn’t three days late, shall we? Thanks!
Oct 14
Henry’s 7th birthday and my grandma’s 90th (surprise) birthday party. We had a great day of beautiful weather, spending it at my grandma’s house. Because of the size of dad’s family, we hadn’t spent any significant amount of time at my grandma’s house, so it was a lot of fun to see my kids exploring her farm like I used to do.
Oct 15
Henry celebrated his birthday at school with skull cupcakes.
Oct 16
Extreme Green day at school because the football team was in the championships or something. Also the day that Ivy asked for her hair to be in a side ponytail and I got flash blacks of my fashion disaster youth. She looked adorable, though.
Oct 17
Erv’s 18 month checkup (one month late). He’s in the 35th and 40th percentile for height and weight now. For a boy that has “failure to gain weight” on his medical records as a newborn, he’s not having problems now!
Also the day we spent two terrible hours in the pharmacy and he fell asleep on me for the first time in, like, A YEAR.
Oct 18
Another trip to the vet. This makes, oh……like, 10 in a month? This time, it was the second trip for Diver. We could tell he was in a lot of pain and not feeling well at all, and the first trip, last week, did almost nothing to help. Turns out, after an x-ray, that he has arthritis in his neck, which is apparently pretty common for beagles. He’s doing MUCH better now, thank goodness.

The kids didn’t have school, so we went to lunch and shopping with my mom. And I got a bug in my bonnet to dye my hair, so I did…..the night before everybody came to our house for Henry’s party. Thankfully it turned out okay….not terribly even, but okay. It’s temporary, so I plan to actually get myself to a salon and have it done for real (and well) in the next few weeks.

Henry’s birthday party. Halloween-themed. (Hubs went as the guy who didn’t feel like dressing up. We also had a vampire and his bride, a zookeeper, a koala, and a meerkat)
Tomorrow, I’m having surgery to get all four of my wisdom teeth taken out. If you’re lucky (ha!), maybe I’ll have chipmunk cheek pictures in the next Project 365 post. If anybody wants to bring me soup or take my kids, I won’t stop you.
Ooh I like your new hair color!! Also, your costumes are awesome.
Good luck with the wisdom teeth removal – I had ONE taken out on one side and I was sucking painkillers for 3 days. Not to scare you or anything. And yes, liquid diet. Mmmmm.
Thank you! And aren't the costumes cute? I got the zookeeper and animal costumes last November, on sale. I really wasn't sure if they'd fit or if the kids would be willing to wear them. Lucky for me, they do fit, and they didn't want to take them off!
I am kind of looking forward to ice cream and mashed potatoes. And pain killers.
I should have gone to vet school. You'd totally be putting my kids through college.
SERIOUSLY. And I might be happier to send Monkey and RB to school than, you know, a stranger. Maybe.
Love the new hair color! I seriously need to go get mine done…. or just do it myself.
I hope that the wisdom teeth pulling goes okay…
Thanks, Jackie! And the teeth stuff went okay…I'm so ready to be all healed and recovered, though.
I love the new color!
And their costumes are adorable!
Thanks, Kimberly! I was just happy that they wanted to keep the costumes on. And I'm really digging the new color, too.
