I don’t know why I’m doing this (peer pressure??) but Jamie at Chosen Chaos and Mommy 2Cents are asking bloggers to link up with a post from our first week of blogging. YIKES. I started this blog in January of last year…it’s been almost two years now and I can hardly believe it. I’d like to think that it’s come a long way, but I’ll let you decide.
Anyway, this was my second ever post, from January 29, 2010. Back when I had an iPhone and all of the kids took naps. Those were the days.
Winding Down and Gearing Up
So, tonight I have a show at my sister-in-law’s house, and I’m super excited about it. Not only do I get to go out and make some money, but I think there will be ladies there that also really needed to get out, and hopefully are eager to see what I have to offer. Yesterday, I spent about an hour getting my jewelry case organized, restocking my bag with catalogs and order forms, and getting all of my goodies and giveaways together. So unless I’ve forgotten anything, all I have to do is get myself ready today.
I LOVE my iPhone, because I can check my email and facebook and other various addictions on it, but this morning, when Essie woke up to eat at 6:00 am, I used all of my willpower to abstain from picking it up, because I knew that if I did, I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep. I was able to get back to sleep without subjecting myself to the bright LED of technology, so hopefully I won’t have horrible dark circles to cover when I put my makeup on. But I guess Henry and Ivy didn’t get enough sleep, because they were both whiny and cranky this morning. I did manage to make them waffles and as a result, make them happy, but poor Ivy drank too much juice on a sour stomach and ended up throwing up at the table. Henry was the opposite of cooperative until nap time, but I told him that if he took a nap and woke up happy, he could go with me tonight. I normally wouldn’t take any of the kids with me, because really, it’s my job, but since it’s at my SIL’s house, and his cousin will be there to play with him, I’m going to make an exception, IF he wakes up happy!!
Anyway, I’ve been cold all day, so I took a steaming hot bath and am watching Project Runway while Essie sleeps in her swing. I have less than three hours until I have to leave, so I’m trying to relax for a while. My goals for the next couple of hours are to make myself pretty, keep my expectations low, and remember to eat something!
