Every year, my family does something for Labor Day. It’s been a tradition for the last, I don’t know…8 years or more. Ever since our family started growing and it became harder to get everybody together for the more “traditional” family holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas).
This year, we went to the Mulvane Art Museum at Washburn University in Topeka, where they have the “Art of the Brick” exhibit of sculptures made entirely out of Legos.

In the basement, there was a kids’ area with all kinds of hands-on activities–print making, Legos to build with, painting, chalk to draw on the wall with…
The little ones went outside while the big kids were working on that, because it was an absolutely perfect day to spend outside.
