I mentioned yesterday that the kids have been gone all weekend, and that I was a little worried about how they were doing (only because they’ve been sick). Well, I did get an update, and while Ivy has been resting more than she usually would on a trip to see grandparents, they seem to be having a good time. And really, when you’re sick and need to rest, would you rather be at home or with your grandparents?

And this weekend has been EXACTLY what I needed. Not only did T. and I get to go out on a seven-hour date Saturday, but we also got the house back in order in anticipation of the upheaval that’s about to happen (and believe me, it needed it…it was such a disaster that I was having anxiety attacks just WALKING AROUND). Right now, I’m eating a leisurely scrambled egg sandwich breakfast, with coffee, alone in the house, watching a TV channel that doesn’t start with P or end with BS. Aaaaaaahhhhhhh. So, I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to my parents for offering to take the kids with them this weekend, and Nana and Papa and Granny and Grandpa for keeping them while they were down there. THANK YOU!!

And one for the road…Ivy is going to be four years old this summer, and she’s got quite the personality. Lately, she loves to give quizzes (like, drawing two lines and asking us which one is bigger or smaller). She’s very matter-of-fact in her questioning. She’s also been getting brain freeze lately…

So, when we went to my last doctor’s appointment, we got our molten chocolate cake dessert to share and it came with a scoop of ice cream. As I was taking a bite of the ice cream, she asked me: “does it make your head hurt?” I said no. She said “Did it go to your tummy, or your head?”. I love that kid.
