This is what I hear this morning as the kids are waiting for their breakfast:
Ivy: “Henry, let me talk to you. Did you have fun at school?”
Henry: “mumble”
Such a sweet, patient big brother, isn’t he?
You may notice that I’ve been blogging a lot more in the past week or so than I have since I started. It’s because of this woman. I was introduced to her recipes and blog a few months ago by T.’s cousins, Megan and Carisa….I don’t know who I actually saw mention her first, but I know they both did, and now I follow the Pioneer Woman religiously. Anyway, she said that as a blogger, you should try to post something every day, whether it’s just a picture or a long, convoluted story (okay, maybe she didn’t say that EXACTLY). I actually had something to post yesterday, but alas, the satellite internet, which I love SO much, was too slow all day, and well….the name of this blog will tell you why I didn’t bother.
It’s going to be one of those days, I think. I don’t want Baby Belle to be cranky today, I definitely don’t, but why is it that she kept me up all night (and I still don’t know why she was crying so much) and she wakes up in a better mood than she ever does? Why is that?? I actually haven’t been all that nauseous for the past few days, but when I don’t sleep very well, that morning sickness rears its ugly head. So right now is the perfect time for me to write this because if I don’t sit still for a little while, sip my hot tea, and slowly eat my breakfast, I’ll be running to the bathroom.
And it kind of stinks, because I have a lot to do right now. There’s at least four baskets of clean laundry downstairs that need to be folded. There’s also a disaster in the kitchen that needs to be cleaned up…speaking of Pioneer Woman, I attempted to make this last night, along with these, homemade gravy, and biscuits. The only thing I didn’t make from scratch was the biscuits, and that’s what everybody gobbled up. I don’t think I’ll be putting that much work into dinner again anytime soon, since all the response I got was “What’d you put on this? It tastes good” and a HUGE mess to clean up.
I also have a show tonight! I’ve had sort of a “break” for a couple of weeks, so I’m ready to get busy again.
These are the days that I’m extra thankful that Henry doesn’t go to preschool until the afternoon. The girls will take a nap (or at least be locked in their room) while he’s gone and I can get ready for tonight. Long after my stomach has settled (I hope).
