I turn 30 in exactly 2 weeks. Yes, I admit it. I’m admitting it. Just don’t ask me say it out loud. Anyway, as a birthday present to myself, I bought this adorable hat from Carisa at A Little Knitting. It was the perfect rainy 64 degree day to get it in the mail, too. It’s so cute and comfortable, I haven’t taken it off. Of course, being the jewelry lady, I had to bling it up!

Henry and Ivy said they liked it when I put it on, but the real reaction came when Henry was sitting on the stairs behind me and touched it. He said “That’s made of yarn! That’s why you’re wearing it! That’s a GREAT thing to do with yarn!!”.

I got out my pretty pink iPod Nano today while I was dropping off some jewelry to my newest jeweler (who’s very first show is tomorrow! Good luck, Kristal!) and listened to a song that I haven’t listened to in quite a while. It’s one of those, though, that, no matter how long ago I’ve listened to it, it still gets me every time. Do you have those? I’m sure you do. Those songs that you will never, ever tire of; that make you cry every time you hear them, or sing at the top of your lungs every single time (or often, both). I listened to about four of those on the way home, and decided to grace you with my list. You can thank me later.

By the way, I couldn’t possibly put these in any particular order. Certain songs are #1 when I’m in a certain mood, and they’re all (pretty much) equally my favorites. Oh, and don’t hold any of these against me. Please.

  • Marrow by Ani Difranco
  • Infected by Bad Religion
  • Epic by Faith No More
  • Cannonball by Damien Rice
  • Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits
  • Like a Prayer by Madonna
  • Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie
  • Anchors Aweigh by Bouncing Souls
  • East Coast Anthem by Good Charlotte (don’t laugh—it’s a major guilty pleasure)

And my number one favorite song right now is Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. We’ll see if it stands the test of time like the others.

Have a great weekend!
