My mom, my grandma, two of my sisters-in-law, one of my nieces, my kids and myself went to Eureka Springs, AR this week to see the Opera In The Ozarks. It’s a really cool training program for opera stars-to-be, and allows them to learn and perform. This is the second year that we’ve gone, but with a slightly different group this time. There was no one to watch my kids, since it was during the week, so they all came with us. Here are some highlights:

Eureka Springs is a very cool, touristy town sort of carved into the mountains of the Ozarks. We took a fun trolley tour, since it rained a lot of the time we were there and couldn’t really walk around downtown much.

We stopped and got to walk around a beautiful catholic church right across from the “haunted” and famous Crescent Hotel. Even just the landscaping in the town in amazing, and the kids especially loved the statues at the church.

It didn’t rain the WHOLE time, and of course, AR is quite warm (even after a morning of rain), so we did get some swimming time in.

It was a long trip with the kids, so when we stopped for lunch on the way home, they went a little nuts in the play area!

All in all, it was a fun trip, and worth the work!

And on another note: one more of my very talented in-laws is having a giveaway! Check out her blog–she makes very cute stuff!
