Well, it’s nap time for the big two, except one of them (I won’t name names but her name rhymes with Drivy) is yelling at me to open the door. I had to finish the movie I was watching though…you know, it had a few choice words so Essie is the only one allowed to watch it with me (well, Tyson could if he were home, he’s a big boy). The movie is called “Motherhood” but it could also be called “The Story of my Life, Set in Manhattan Instead of Boyle and Starring Uma Thurman Instead of Greta Funk”. It didn’t get very good reviews, but I think that that’s probably because the reviewers weren’t moms. For moms, its very, very relatable, at least for me it was. It’s all about balancing, both literally and figuratively. And it has good music. Anyway, if you’re a mom, I highly recommend it.
It’s been a mildly productive day…no, not really, but I did make dentist appointments for Henry, Ivy, and myself. That’s something, right? It’ll be Henry and Ivy’s first trip to the dentist…Ever. But this particular office comes highly recommended for kids, so I’m hoping for the best.
I think Ivy is starting to consider potty training again. She just about potty trained herself a few months ago, but that fizzled and become way more about having accidents than using the potty. But, lately she’s been taking off her diaper (as you know from one of my very early posts) and stashing it in her toy box. Luckily, most of the time it’s only wet. But she refuses to put a clean one on, which is a problem, as she doesn’t actually USE the potty yet. Henry let her out of her room this morning, and she comes waltzing into our room, totally naked. The only way she would let me put a clean diaper on her was if I asked her if she wanted to put on a pretty dress. Miss Ivy, all about princesses and pink and purple, can rarely refuse a pretty dress.
Tyson’s making supper tonight. Can I get a “whoop whoop” and an “amen!”?!
