The eight year old has been talking about April Fool’s Day all week. He’s been plotting, planning, and reading up on it.
Specifically, from April Fool’s Day From the Black Lagoon*.
He asked me last night if they could have muffins for breakfast, so he could stick Lego guys (that he didn’t like very much) in them as a joke. (he’s not that great at keeping secrets yet)
Then, after he finished eating he came in the bathroom while I was taking a shower (it’s his favorite time to chat: while he’s going to the bathroom).
“What should we do to Ivy today? We haven’t thought of a big prank for her yet…
Are you gonna do anything, mama? You should do something after you get back home. But only to me, so we don’t upset the girls.
Have you ever played the faucet trick? I still need to do that after school.”
Later, because he’s such a sweet boy, he thanked me for serving the muffins.
What’s April Fool’s like at your house?

Thankfully, my husband was away on April so no pranking going on here! 🙂
I think it's adorable that Henry is so into it.
It is adorable….somehow, he still makes it sweet.
I'm glad my kids aren't old enough for April Fools.. I'm not looking forward to it when they are. It was just a regular day around here.
It definitely wasn't anything too tricky or sneaky around here….might turn into that in a few years, though!
My son thinks he should get to do April Fools today because he forgot yesterday. Ugh.
Ha! Did you say, uh…no. Sorry, dude. 😀
So sweet that he's into April fools. We don't do much at our house. I don't like the pranks lol
It is, especially since he tells us before he does it. LOL
the kids found various plastic fake and some actually quite real looking bugs, spiders and snakes hidden in things that morning. My favourite were the ones in the cereal boxes that came out when they poured.
that's about as elaborate as I get around here – they are still young. I am sure I will do better as they get older. I like the Lego man idea!
Ha! We need to get some fake bugs for next year (I can't believe I just said that).
We missed April fool's day this year – nobody was really into it. Usually we do one or two little things, but I think the kids just weren't thinking about it. And then I was busy all day Tuesday so I didn't even get to fall for all the fake internet articles. Actually, I think every day is April Fool's Day on the internet.
Oh my God, that's adorable! I love how your son is a considerate prankster. Like he wants to have fun, but not at anyone's expense. <3!
