Our doctor said that it burns calories when he has to work so hard and nurse so long, and he isn’t getting the nutrition he needs.
We have to go back again on Tuesday, and now, because I’m still hopeful that I’ll be able to nurse him, I’m going to pump and give him a bottle of milk or formula every two hours.
I just hope that I will still be able to nurse him after he bulks up a little…I couldn’t nurse either of the girls, and since he’s the last child (most likely) and has had the best latch of any of the four, I’ll be super bummed if it doesn’t work out.
*fingers crossed*
